Onya Onya is an extract from an old Apatani folk song, one that is slowly fading from our cultural memory.

A little girl child is referred to as Onya in Apatani. My mother is also called Onya by her friends, brothers and elders in the tribe.

Domestic spaces hold different meanings in tribal settings. This series emerged during the lockdown as an attempt to understand feminism in a tribal landscape.
